Are you under the waterfall?

John 15:9 is an amazing verse. Consider it with me. "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love." Jesus says that the love that the Father has for the Son is the same love that Christ has for us as believers. That is a fact. A mind-blowing, unbelievable fact. Then an exhortation, four words, abide in My love. What are we to do? We are to remain, to stay, to continue on in, to stay fixed in, to abide in the love of Christ. This is not a love that runs out, it is ever-flowing, like the heat and energy that radiates from the sun, so the love of Christ comes from His eternal deity. Constant, unwavering, matchless in power, a waterfall of love, a Niagra Falls of love. He tells us remain in it, remain under the waterfall. Are you discouraged today? Remain in my love. Are you anxious today? Remain in my love. Are you fearful today? Remain in my love. That waterfall of love is displayed in Christ laying down His life for His friends. That waterfall of love is seen in the reality that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ. That waterfall of love is seen as Christ answers the question, "Who will bring any charge against the elect?" It is God who justifies. If God in His waterfall of love cascading down on us is for us, who can be against us? What shall seperate us from this love? Tribulation? Peril? Distress? Nothing in all creation will be able to seperate us from the love of God that flows to us in Christ Jesus our Lord. Oh how the waves of discouragement or worry or doubt can threaten us, but He remains unmoving. Beloved, Abide in His love.
