The Second Lie – Jesus Christ is Less Than… Every false religion and system would have you believe Jesus Christ is less than what you might think. Consider them one by one and you will see that part of their teaching diminishes Christ. True Christianity is just the opposite. Jesus Christ stands exalted as greater than any other person or thing in the universe. God is not confusing or fuzzy. God’s Name is not mystery. The Creator does not stand behind a cloud of opaque obfuscation. “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. All things were created by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made.” Jesus is the Word. Everything was made by Him. Jesus Christ has spoken to us. He is the Heir of all things and He is the Agent of creation. He is the Radiance of the glory of God. The exact imprint of His nature. He, Jesus Christ upholds the world by the word of His power. He made purification for or sins and He sits at the right hand of Almighty God. (from Hebrews 1:1-4) All this is true of Christ the New Testament labors to exalt Christ and yet what does every false religion and system do. They diminish Him. They make Him far less than He is. They say, “He is one of many holy men, He is a prophet.” But we have just seen He is utterly and incomparably unique. Thus the New Testament spends so much time explaining and exalting Him because history has shown us so many attacks.
